Vintage Window Collage Backdrop

We had basically just wrapped up putting together the finishing touches on our new vintage window backdrop when my sister-in-law and her fiancé called to let us know they were planning a beach vacation in New Jersey. Anyone with family on the other side of the country knows that this type of news is always exciting. We eagerly asked our future brother-in-law, Peter, an LA based location manager and photographer, to bring along his camera so we could snap some photos of our newest rental item. What resulted was some amazing pictures of this structure and our family.

The dimensions of the window mosaic are 11'8"w by 9'9"h. It is constructed of windows we have been collecting since we started Rustic Drift. Much like our business, it is pieced together, of various window sizes, styles and colors. A few windows we even snagged from the curb before bulk trash day from a historic home in our neighborhood (#winning).

It's such an added bonus to have non-iPhone photos of our family. Turns out, it's a pretty great prop for family portraits as well. To see more of Peter's photos from around the world click here. He is insanely talented.

The inspiration for this project was discovered when we came across the "Glass Cabin" built by Nick Olson + Lilah Horwitz (photo below). You can read more about it here or watch this great little documentary on it.
